Painter House
First dispositions, first form, first try at understanding the spaces as a joined organism that has to cooperate. The project came to life during covid and it shows. The complete division between work space and the living space, that is the exact thing I was lacking at home. The house is designed to accommodate a travelling artist. Focus was on the northern stable light in the studio and the inspiring views into the valley below. What was specific to my project compared to my classmates was the need for a large open space allowing work on large scale canvases. The living space offers complete housing for two people. I placed the bedroom on the edge of the house to again, allow for great views in the morning and the evening as the artist goes to bed. Added bonus is the fact the living space is lit from both the east and the west, to further contrast the beginning and the end of the day.
